The technique uses 2 to 5 small holes of 3 to 10 mm diameter, in the abdomen to perform the operation on the body parts inside. No large cuts need to be made on the body as in open surgery. The special instrument used to perform minimally invasive surgeries is called the Laparoscope… an instrument that is inserted into the abdominal cavity or chest cavity through a small hole.

Benefits of Minimally Invasive or Laparoscopic Procedures are:-
  • Less post operative discomfort since the incisions are much smaller
  • Quicker recovery times
  • Shorter hospital stays
